Fall on the Water

Fall brings a different kind of beauty to Chautauqua Lake, with crisp days, colorful shorelines, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water before the boating season winds down. Whether you’re heading out for a peaceful afternoon on the lake or taking in the changing scenery from shore, it’s one of our favorite times of year in Chautauqua.

Visit Johnson Estate Winery

Looking for a great way to spend a fall afternoon away from the lake? Take a scenic drive to Johnson Estate Winery in Westfield, located in the heart of Lake Erie Wine Country. New York’s oldest continuously operating estate winery, Johnson Estate has been family-owned for generations and combines local history, beautiful vineyards, and plenty of Western New York hospitality.

Stop by the historic tasting room to sample wines made from estate-grown grapes, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Concord, and other varieties grown right on the property. Fall is an especially beautiful time to visit, with harvest season underway and the vineyards changing with the season.
